Preparing for a session when you do not know what to say

Practical pointers for getting comfortable, starting a conversation and choosing what to share.

You do not need a prepared story You can start with: “I do not know where to begin”, “I would like someone to listen without giving advice straight away”, or “There is something I would like to talk about”. These are examples, not a script. You may focus on just one subject. Choose a suitable place If possible, sit somewhere other people cannot see your screen or hear your voice. On a shared phone, consider notification previews and people nearby. Headphones may reduce the sound others hear, but they do not make your surroundings private. For text chat Write at your own pace and check what you want to send. Chat does not accept attachments: you do not need documents, photos or evidence to describe a difficulty. Avoid identifying details about yourself or other people. For audio Your browser requests microphone access; the camera is not used for this conversation. Check your volume and microphone permission. A ready microphone does not mean both people are connected yet. Wait for the connection indicator. You can mute your microphone or end the session. If the connection drops Read the displayed status and use the retry control provided. A network interruption does not confirm whether your last message was received. Do not send contact details hoping for a callback: telephone follow-up is not promised. The service guarantees neither an immediate response nor a later session with the same person.
